Why Neretva

Performance, design & what owners say.

A Neretva earns its place on your counter twice: once with its vintage silhouette, and every morning after with hot, crema-crowned espresso. Here's what our machines deliver — and how to choose yours.

Engineered performance

Built for the shot, tuned for the ritual.

Underneath the enamel curves sits serious brewing hardware — a rapid thermoblock, a vibratory pump with real headroom, and a steam wand that textures milk like a café's.

Shot consistency

Dose the same amount of coffee and you get the same shot — the internal flowmeter measures water volume precisely, keeping extraction times steady across consecutive double shots.

Crema, every time

Our pressurized portafilter baskets aerate the coffee oils as they extract, building a thick, golden crema even from pre-ground supermarket coffee. Fresh beans reward you with a velvet-like layer.

Stable thermoblock heating

The rapid-heat thermoblock reaches brewing temperature in moments and holds a steady 198–202 °F through a 30-second pull — the sweet spot for sweet, balanced extraction.

Microfoam in under a minute

Once the thermoblock flashes to steam temperature, the manual wand delivers dry, forceful steam that textures silky microfoam in 45–60 seconds — ready for lattes, cappuccinos and your first attempts at latte art.

Smooth by design

Gentle pre-infusion, quiet power.

Instead of slamming pressure into the puck, our Italian-styled vibratory pump accelerates quietly until it meets resistance — a gentle pre-infusion-like wetting of the coffee bed before full flow engages. The result is an even, smooth extraction with less bitterness and channeling.

The same pump gives the steam circuit real muscle, so milk texturing feels controlled rather than rushed — a technique most owners master within their first few mornings.

Two machines, one ritual

Which Neretva is right for you?

True espresso extracts at around 9 bars at the group head — both models deliver that with room to spare. The difference is how much headroom you want.

15 BAR

Choose the 15 Bar if…

You brew pre-ground coffee and want a forgiving, easy-going flow. Its softer pressure wave handles uneven grinds gracefully without choking the group head — the friendliest way into real espresso.

20 BAR

Choose the 20 Bar if…

You own a burr grinder and love to dial in. The upgraded pump powers through fine, densely tamped coffee beds, extracting heavier body and richer crema — with an analog gauge to watch every pull.

Good to know

Honest notes from our engineers.

  • One boiler, two jobs. Like every single-boiler machine, your Neretva brews first and steams second — allow a short pause while the thermoblock flashes up to steam temperature.
  • Pressurized baskets are a feature. They're what makes crema effortless and tamping forgiving. If you graduate to a high-end grinder, the 20 Bar gives you room to grow.
  • Descaling is the secret to longevity. A quick descale every 1–3 months keeps the thermoblock and steam wand at full power for years. Our manual shows you how in minutes.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Is Neretva a good espresso machine brand?

We think so — and so do thousands of home baristas. Every Neretva pairs a rapid thermoblock heating system and a reliable vibratory pump with a hand-finished vintage shell, delivering true café-style espresso at an accessible price.

How long does a Neretva machine last?

With simple care, years. Regular descaling every 1–3 months and a quick daily wipe-down keep the thermoblock and steam wand performing like new. Our manual and FAQ walk you through the full routine.

Is 20 bar better than 15 bar?

Neither is better — they suit different brewers. The 20 Bar offers extra extraction headroom for enthusiasts dialing in fine grinds, while the 15 Bar is wonderfully forgiving and loves pre-ground coffee. Both pull genuine espresso.

Does it make real espresso?

Yes. True espresso needs hot water forced through compacted coffee at 9 bars or more. Both Neretva models deliver that with room to spare, extracting genuine espresso complete with proper crema.

What makes Neretva different?

We combine 1950s-inspired retro design with modern thermoblock engineering. A Neretva is a statement piece on your counter and a capable espresso machine underneath — without the price tag of a commercial setup.

Is it good for beginners?

Absolutely. Simple button controls, a straightforward manual steam wand and pressurized filter baskets that forgive uneven tamping and grind size make Neretva one of the friendliest ways to start pulling real espresso at home.

Do I need a grinder?

Not to get started — store-bought pre-ground espresso blends work well, especially on the 15 Bar. That said, a burr grinder and freshly ground beans noticeably deepen flavor and crema, and let the 20 Bar really shine.
